Thanksgiving update
I hope everyone’s thanksgiving was as fun as mine. I took a day off work and slaved in the kitchen all day, while Alex ran out the door when he saw me taking out a 8 lbs turkey.
Kidding mon chou
He cleaned the apartment and helped rearrange the furniture. He also made emergency trips to the grocery store for me.
The turkey, pre-cooking…I brined it overnight in a herb/salt solution, which is SO brilliant, btw. It makes the turkey so unbelievably moist and very forgiving. I didnt have a meat thermomenter and even then it came out great. And the gravy was excellent, made with the dripping.
This stuffing recipe is my Auntie’s. Toasted french baguette cubes, celery, raisins, onions, and a bit of chicken stock to make it moist.
So I kicked myself in the ass for forgetting to take pictures of the table all neatly set with our guests (Alex invited his coworkers) but I did take a picture of the carcass, proof that it was delicious.
Then we went to the Salon National des Animaux which was at Parc Olympique.
I was thrilled of course. A whole day surrounded by animals?? And animal food companies handing out FREE samples? It was too good to be true.
But nevertheless it was an experience.

We had the most fun checking out the agility runs.

For those you unfamiliar with the Dog Agility runs, you can read more about it here.
Those little dogs can fly!
And a couple of wild animals…
Voila. Enjoy!
