Bechamel in Marseille

OK ok, my first update of the year, inspired by Ms. Charity… (oops Mrs. Park I meant)

Well, Christmas was good. Alex and I went to a very impressive french restaurant in Marseille called Peron
This was my first course

BTW foie gras RULES. Yes I know it’s bloated duck liver, but its so good…..

Then I had the lamb….oh I LOVE lamb…..yes it’s another defenseless animal, but its SO tender…

Then my desert of salted caramel ice cream with brioche….

New Years Eve was spent at a french dinner party. Yes I spoke french and yes I had a good time

So for New Years everyone gets REALLY drunk and dances to oldies. Which I partook in bien sur.

Alex pouring me one of my 6 glasses of champagne. Needless to say, I was drunk

So do you see the roses in the back? I brought them to the dinner thinking everyone else would. But only I did. So now I’m known as the only nice american they know. Which is weird, because it’s just common sense to bring something….

The dinner was fantastic. Quail, buttered garlic noodles, salad, a cake for dessert. Everything home made. My goodness…

So voila. My life in france so far. Enjoy.
