riots
So my brother emailed me
“be careful of the riots. i’ll write more later. what the fuck are
they about anyway. i read they were close to marseille so i hope you
dont die by a car bomb.”

To clear things up for my dear, worried readers, the riots are in north of France. So I’m pretty safe. Think of it like the LA riots and I’m in Irvine. Same concept. There has been one report of violence about 1 hour from Aix-en-provence, but I’m good.
And to answer the question of what they’re about anyways, it all started when two youths in the ghettos outside of Paris got electrocuted when they tried to run away from the police. The tensions between the city of Paris and the ghettos had been simmering for some time. I’m suprrised it took this long for things to explode. I know there is a mandatory 12am curfew in Paris now. Does not apply to Aix once again.
BUT if you don’t hear from me in a week….then start to worry.
