Transition team announces new government structure
The transition team of President-elect Park Geun-hye announced a 17-ministry structure for the incoming government on Tuesday, adding two new ministries to the current make-up and establishing a vice premiership for economic affairs. Committee Chairman Kim Yong-joon announced that the "ministry of creativity and science" will be newly established while the maritime and fisheries affairs ministry will be revived. The post of finance minister will be elevated to vice prime minister, he said.

인 수위원회는 다음달 출범하는 ‘박근혜 정부’의 조직을 현행 15부2처18청에서 2개부(部) 늘린 17부3처17청으로 확정했습니다.15일 김용준 인수위원장에 따르면, 국내외 경제위기 극복과 경제부흥을 이끌기 위해 경제부총리제가 부활하고 기획재정부 장관이 겸임토록 했습니다. 또한, 미래창조과학부가 신설되고, 해양수산부가 부활합니다. 미래창조과학부에는 정보통신기술(ICT) 전담을 위한 차관제가 도입됐습니다.

Ssangyong Motor to Reinstate 455 Workers on Unpaid Leave of Absence
The labor and management of Ssangyong Motor has agreed with its union to reinstate 455 workers who were on an unpaid leave of absence amid a recent political move to investigate the company. The workers are those who were classified as those on an unpaid leave of absence after the automaker underwent structural reform in 2009. 1,900 workers voluntarily quit, while 159 were laid off and 455 were forced to take unpaid leave of absence.

쌍 용자동차와 노조가 최근 정치적 움직임속에서 무급휴직자 455명을 복직시키기로 합의하였습니다. 복직되는 무급휴직자 455명은 2009년 대대적인 구조 개혁으로 인해 강제로 무급휴직자가된 455명으로, 이외에도 2009년에 쌍용자동차의159명의 근로자가 해고되었고 1900명이 자별적으로 퇴사하였습니다. 쌍용자동차는 무급휴직자들의 전원 복직 합의와 관련해, 쌍용자동차가 본격적인 인력 운용 계획과 생산증대 방안 마련에 들어갔습니다.

Nearly 100 doctors caught for abusing propofol, other drugs
Police have uncovered 98 medical workers and 8 hospitals in a 2 months nationwide crackdown on illegal use of drugs by hospitals. Propofol is classified as a psychotropic drug but commonly used during routine surgeries. The Korea Food & Drug Administration said they have requested the NPA to further investigate 69 other hospitals on suspicion of illegally using and distributing propofol.
프로포폴을 불법으로 사용하는 의료인이 다수 적발되었습니다.
약 100여명의 의료인이 프로포폴 등 마약류를 불법 사용해 오다 9일 경찰에 붙잡혔습니다. 식품의약품안전청과 경찰청은 지난해 10월부터 11월까지 전국적으로 의료용 마약류 실태 조사를 통해 의료인 98명과 개인병원 8곳을 적발했습니다. 이에대해 식약청은 프로포폴 등 의료용 마약류 오•남용을 근절하기 위해 무선주파수인식기술 (RFID) 태그를 부착 하여 의료기관의사용내역 보고제 등을 추진할 예정이라고 전했습니다.

KAIST looking to boost KTX speed
Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology is looking to integrate its indigenously-developed online electric vehicle technology into the country’s flagship KTX high-speed train to achieve speeds of more than 300 km per hour. The existing railway system is charged by grids hanging above the moving bullet train, which limit its speed due to the constant friction between the train and the electrical lines. KAIST said that the OLEV system under the rails can give the bullet train greater mobility and efficiency.

카 이스트는 자체 개발한 온라인전기자동차(올레브)를 KTX 고속열차에 적용할 수 있도록 철도시설공단 그리고 철도기술연구원하고 기초연구에 착수했습니다. KTX는 위에서 전력공급을 해주는 선과의 마찰 때문에 속도의 한계에 이르고 있는것으로, 전력선을 올레브처럼 고정된 레일 밑에 설치를 하면 고속열차의 효율성과 이동성을 증가시킬 수 있고 소음공해의 피해를 최소화할 수 있는것으로 나타났습니다.
