In the fall, many people in Korea go for a walk to the various mountains located in the country. One of the famous mountains for the beautiful autumn leaves is Mt. Bukhan in Seongbuk-gu of Seoul. The leaves of this mountain start to change color in the beginning of October, and continues to beginning of November. The peak time to watch the leaves is October 31st. Around this time, the mountain is crowded with people.
가을이 되면 울긋불긋 여러색의 단풍이 들어 참 아름다운데요, 단풍이 예쁘게 들려면 여러가지 조건이 필요하답니다. 우선 일교차가 커야하지만, 그렇다고 기온이 영하로 내려가면 안된다고 하네요. 하늘은 청명하고 일사량이 커야되고요. 추우면서 비가 오는 날씨에는 잎이 충분히 색이 변하기 전에 떨어지고 너무 건조할 경우 단풍을 보기전에 잎이 타는 현상이 나타나기 때문에 알맞은 습도를 유지하는 것이 매우 중요합니다. 이러한 조건을 잘 갖춘 나라가 바로 한국이어서 , 한국의 단풍은 더욱 더 아름답기로 알려져있습니다. 한국에서의 단풍구경은 10월 중순부터 하순정도까지가 절정기입니다.

For instance, Everland located in Yong-in of Gyeonggi province, the suburbs of Seoul, is not only crowded with people visiting the amusement park, but also with people who visit to enjoy the autumn leaves. Especially, the Ho-Am lake around Everland has a very beautiful scenery during the fall. Colors of the autumn leaves in the mountains around the lake are reflected on the surface of the lake, and this is known to create a very beautiful view.
산뿐만 아니라 많은 다른 장소들도 단풍 구경으로 유명한데요, 예를 들어 서울근교, 경기도 용인에 위치한 에버랜드는 가을이 되면 놀이공원을 찾는 사람들과 더불어 단풍 구경을 오는 사람들로 붐빈다고 합니다. 특히 에버랜드 주변의 호암호수는 호수와 단풍이 어우러져 절경을 이룬다고 하네요. 호암호수 주변의 야산에 단풍이 물들기 시작하면, 그 빛깔이 호수 수면에 비추어 매우 아름답다고 합니다. 그리고 호수 주변에는 “석인의 길”이라고 불리우는 산책로가 있어, 걷기 운동을 하기에도 좋고, 연인과의 데이트 장소로도 안성맞춤이라고 합니다.
