The Code of a Duel

Duels have had a legendry place in history. From the early clashes of the Homo Sapiens to the fatal end of Alexander Hamilton in the United States, this one on one combat to the death, though now banned in many countries, holds a special interest.

역사 속에서 많은 전설을 남긴 결투. 아득한 먼 옛날 호모 사피언스들의 싸움부터 시작해서 미국의 알렉산더 해밀턴을 죽음으로 몰고 간 일 대 일 대결까지, 이미 많은 나라에서 금지가 되었지만 여전히 관심은 계속되고 있습니다.

In “The Code of a Duel”, this film attempts to show how a modern day Seoul would look if duels were perfectly legal. Yu Young-bin is on the surface a ordinary office drone. However, he is one of the most formidable skilled swordsmen who has spent his life dueling. While visitng his friend Jin Woon-gwang’s fencing training center, Young-bin meets, Choi Bon-guk, who reminds him of himself. He attempts to train Bon-guk, despite the fatal risks.

영화 "도시락"은 바로 이 남자들의 로망이라고 할 수 있는 결투가 허용된 현대 서울의 모습을 그리고 있습니다. 표면적으로는 평범한 샐러리맨인 유영빈은 결투에서는 엄청난 실력을 가진 고수입니다. 한 평생을 결투로 보낸 그는 친구 진운광이 운영하는 도장에 들렸다가 검술에 빠진 고등학생 최봉국을 만나게 되고 마치 어린 날의 자신을 보는 것 만 같은 기분에 후에 다가 올 치명적인 위험을 뒤로하고 영빈은 봉국에게 검술을 가르치기에 이릅니다.

The film was directed and stars Myeong-jun Yeo . It also stars Sang-hong Lee and Jae-ok Yu. It has already been shown at PiFan 2007 and will finally get it’s release in South Korea on August 6 th.

감독인 동시에 배우로써 출연한 여명준씨를 필두로 이상홍, 유재욱씨가 출연한 "도시락"은 부천 판타스틱 영화제에서 먼저 상영된 바 있구요, 올 8월 6일 드디어 정식 개봉이 되었습니다.
